2.2 Display Advertisements

Display ads may appear in designated areas of the Service, such as sidebars or between content sections. These ads are visually distinct from user-generated content and are clearly marked as advertisements.

2.3 Creator Promotions

Creators on CleoSocial can promote their own content to reach new audiences. Creator promotions use the same advertising infrastructure and targeting options as business advertisements.

3. How Ad Targeting Works

We use the following types of information to determine which ads to show you. Our targeting is designed to show you relevant ads while respecting your privacy:

3.1 Interest-Based Targeting

• Content Interactions: The types of posts you like, comment on, share, and bookmark help us understand your interests.
• Hashtags and Topics: The hashtags you follow or frequently engage with inform ad relevance.
• Profile Information: Information you provide in your profile (bio, interests) may be used for targeting.

3.2 Demographic Targeting

• Age Range: Advertisers can target broad age ranges. Your exact date of birth is never shared with advertisers.
• Location: Ads may be targeted based on your approximate location (city or region level). Precise GPS coordinates are never used.
• Language: Ads may be shown based on your language preferences.

3.3 Contextual Targeting

• Content Context: Ads may be matched to the type of content you are currently viewing.
• Content Rating: Ads are matched to appropriate content rating levels.
• Time and Device: The time of day and type of device you are using may influence which ads are shown.

4. What We Do NOT Do

6. Your Ad Controls

• Interest Categories: View and manage the interest categories in Settings → Privacy → Ad Preferences.
• Content Filters: Use content rating preferences to control the types of ads you see.
• Political/Religious Content: Filter out political or religious advertising through content filter settings.

6.2 Ad Feedback

• Hide Ad: Tap the three-dot menu on any ad and select "Hide this ad."
• Report Ad: If an ad violates our policies, you can report it through the same menu.
• Why Am I Seeing This? Tap "Why this ad?" to see the targeting criteria.

6.3 Patron Saint Reduced Ads

Patron Saint subscribers enjoy a reduced advertising experience with significantly fewer third-party advertisements.
